TWO HELD FOR MURDER, ABDUCTION OF PETTY TRADER IN NASARWA 1

The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested two men, Abubakar Ibrahim and Isah Ayuba, for allegedly abducting and murdering a petty trader named Felicia Namkywa . The suspects, residents of Shember village in Agwatashi, Obi Local Government Area, were apprehended after a complaint was filed at the Obi Divisional Police Headquarters reporting Namkywa’s disappearance.

It’s reported that Abubakar Ibrahim had owed Namkywa ₦40,000 and lured her to a Fulani settlement (Ruga) under the guise of purchasing grains. Unfortunately, the suspects had sinister plans to rob her of her business capital and take her life .

During interrogation, the suspects confessed to abducting Namkywa, taking her to a forest where they strangled her to death, and then dumping her remains in a swamp. They also stole ₦555,000 from her . The police were able to recover Namkywa’s remains after the suspects led them to the scene.

The Nasarawa State Commissioner of Police, CP Umar Shehu Nadada, has directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police to expedite the investigation and ensure the suspects are charged to court. The police have urged the public to remain calm and report any suspicious activities .

The statement added that the suspects “subsequently led the police operatives to the scene where the decayed remains of the victim were recovered.”

Nansel added that the State Commissioner of Police, Umar Nadada, had ordered the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department to swiftly conclude the investigation and charge the suspects to court for immediate prosecution.
