Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu’s appointment as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs by President Tinubu demonstrates a dedication to strengthening Nigeria’s diplomatic representation and engagement. This was a noteworthy decision considering her experience and the legacy of her late husband, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu. One of the new ministers the president named is Bianca, the widow of the late Biafra warlord Emeka Odumegwu Ojukwu.

Following Wednesday’s Federal Executive Council meeting, the presidency released a statement announcing the appointment.

“In keeping with his pledge to Nigerians, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, has authorized the immediate implementation of eight comprehensive measures to revitalize the administration’s capacity for maximum efficiency,” the statement stated.

In place of Doris Uzoka-Anite, who was reassigned as the Minister of State Finance, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu was made Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, and Jumoke Oduwole was named Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment.
