The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSDC), Ogun state command has concluded arrangements to deploy 2,855 of her personnel across all formations in Ogun state to provide adequate security of lives and properties during the coming Eid-el Kabir celebrations to hold between Tuesday 20th and Wednesday 21st July 2021.

This was contained in a press release issued on Wednesday and signed by the state P.R.O of NSCDC Dyke Ogbonnaya. According to the release, the personnel will be deployed across all formations in Ogun State, to cover praying centres, Critical National Assets and Infrastructure, red spots and other national, State and local interests in and around the State.

Speaking in the release, the State commandant of the force, Mr Kolawole Taiwo said Ogun state is noted for peace and harmony but it has become imperative to give adequate attention to the security of lives and property across the State, considering the various activities before, during and after the celebrations. “The State is noted for peace and harmony however, this would not be taken for granted rather the needed strategic plans and consciousness of the challenges in security in recent times had made it very compulsory to pay serious focus to lives, property and national assets in the State” the commandant said. “The command had also  intensified efforts towards improving its intelligence sharing with other sister security agencies in mitigating and mopping up all forms of threats and violence in the State at all times” he intoned.

Commandant Taiwo has directed his management team across Ogun State that all hands must be on deck in ensuring peace, order and tranquillity across the state. According to him, the Corps is noted for averting disaster and bringing succour to the citizens during emergencies and this time would not be an exception in that all personnel of the Corps would be seen at all government facilities and around heavily populated places. While issuing these directives, the Commandant warned that each location beat and coverage centres would be appropriately supervised by a high ranking officer who would ensure the efficacy of all activities for a smooth security watch across the State.

While also wishing all Muslim faithful a happy celebration, the Commandant urges for a collaborative security network and cooperation from the people in quickly volunteering timely information as a necessary antidote in solving issues of violence, banditry and other vices, at least in the immediate instance before other concerted efforts is
brought in.
