Mr Ezenwafor steps down for Peter Obi

Mr Ezenwafor, has officially stepped down as the factional presidential candidate of the Calistus Okafor led faction.

Mr Ezenwafor, made the announcement on Wednesday, and said that he decision a abandon his campaign and step aside for the former Anambra state Governor Peter Obi, was on personal grounds.

He stated “I hereby withdraw from the forthcoming election in 2023,” Mr Ezenwafor said in a statement first published by Band News on Thursday.

“After consulting my supporters nationwide, I decided to withdraw for personal reasons.”

Mr Ezenwafor, also apologized for any inconveniences his withdrawal from the race might cause his party and also appreciated them for the opportunity to serve Nigeria.

He stated ““I regret any inconveniences my withdrawal might cost our party,” he added.

“I thank the leadership of our great party for giving me the opportunity to serve Nigeria. Thank you and God bless you all.”

Still Mr Obi, remains the only recognized presidential candidate and it has become more affirmed as NLC have openly endorsed his candidacy, stating that he is the only recognized presidential candidate of the party.

INEC, also have stated that they recognize the Peter Obi faction of the party.
