Nigeria’s A-listed comedian I Go Dye has received a standing ovation after a laudable performance where he went beyond just the usual comedy to addressing national issues which plague our nation.

“If comedy was a kingdom, I go dye is the king,” Yanbaba a Nigerian comedian stated as he uploaded the video on his Facebook page.

I go dye is a veteran comedian who has been in the industry for about 27 years and still counting. He is not known for bad jokes and certainly this time around he went in for the dive with both feet.

I go dye’s performance can be referred to as patriotic, as he spoke in the presence of a serving minister who attended the show without fear or trembling.

He started by addressing Seun Okinbaloye, the channels TV presenter who hosts shows discussing real talks concerning politically related issues and development.

Seun is normally seen going all out with politicians as he squares off with them on hard talk political issues stating facts.

The comedian advised the TV presenter to take it easy and tread a bit more softly and not allow the praises of Nigerians to hype him up.

He cited examples of those Nigerians had hyped to their downfall.I go dye made mention of Gani Fawehinmi, who was hyped to stand for an election and got abandoned at the polls only being able to pull two votes.

MKO Abiola was hyped to stand up against a military government and got cut down early.

And Sowore, who he said Nigerians hyped, telling him that it was time for the youths to take over is still struggling with court cases till date.

However, he commended Seun for a good job well done so far.

Going further, the comedian made it clear that the problem of Nigeria is not the northern, southern, eastern or western man, but that our problem is the lack of unity and those who have been sent to represent us at the helm of affairs.

He stated that although he is not a president Muhammadu Buhari fan he has come to respect the president because of two things which have pointed the insincerity of representatives.

The first reason being that there is no state in Nigeria the president does not pay allocation to, but that these allocations are being mismanaged and misappropriated by the leaders.

The second reason was as a result of the EndSars protest. He said the protest helped Nigerians to discover that the president did distribute the covid-19 paliatives to th different states of the federation and it never got to people but were hidden by the leaders.

In his final words he stated that no one can solve the insecurity problems we are facing until we question those we sent to represent us at the helm of affairs.

Also, he stated that we can change the system, but we are too far from it.

As he closed he urged Nigerians to come together and unite while urging the leaders to represent well.

As he closed he stated that a talent he cannot use to affect his immediate environment is a wasted gift.

“A talent I cannot use to impact my immediate environment is a wasted gift”

After a strong performance he closed with the strong statement “You talk you die, you no talk you die, let me talk and die”.
