Senegal and Bayern Munich forward, Sadio Mane will miss the upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar due to an injury sustained during Bayern Munich’s game with Werder Bremen on Tuesday night, where Bayern won 6-1.

The Senegalese star was injured in the 15 minute of the game and the chances of playing in the upcoming FIFA World Cup becomes a mirage as Senegal’s first match comes up in just 12 days time.

Bayern Munich coach, Julian Nagelsmann, in confirmation to Mane’s condition after the match on Tuesday said: “I can’t say anything for sure, he took a blow to the head of his shin.

“That’s an unpleasant spot, it radiates a bit into the muscles. I think he has to go to the X-ray to see if there is something there because it is splintering easily. But I hope that nothing is wrong. I can’t say anything for sure yet.”

The 2022 FIFA World Cup commences on Sunday, 20th November and Senegal plays group A rival Netherlands on Monday, 21st November, 2022.
