Snapchat now allows you to pause your Snap Streaks. Snapchat snap streak which allows a lot of users to send a photo to their friend once every 24hrs is really important to a lot of Snapchat users. Capitalizing on this, Snap is now allowing users to pause their Snap streaks, so they don’t have to worry about breaking them if they don’t use the app for a while.

However, this feature is still in its testing phase, and to that effect, Snapchat will allow users to pause only one streak for free.

“A lost Snap Streak doesn’t mean your friendship has gone cold, so starting today, we’re making it easier to take a break with a new feature we’re testing to let you reignite the spark and restore one Streak for free with just one tap,” the company said in an announcement.

According to Snapchat, users will have “the option to add more Streak Restores right from the app,” and this will cost 99c per pause in the US. Snapchat also mentioned that it will soon roll out a feature for Snapchat+ users which will allow them to freeze streaks. So essentially, the fact remains that people will have to pay to maintain streaks.

The social network added a chatbot to its paid plan last month, powered by OpenAI’s GPT technology.

Snap announced during its Investor Day event in February that it now has over 750 million monthly active users and over 2.5 million paid users. It also made announcements for creators and developers at the same time. The company stated that it will bring ray tracing technology to developers in order for them to create Lenses with realistic effects. It also added features that make it easier for creators to use licensed sounds in their snaps.

For those who are not very familiar with this, Snapchat Snap Streaks is a feature where users can maintain a streak of sending snaps to their friends consecutively for a certain number of days. To start a Snap Streak, two users need to send snaps to each other within 24 hours for at least three days in a row. Once a streak is established, a flame emoji appears next to the friend’s name, along with the number of days the streak has been going on.

To maintain the Snap Streak, both users need to send snaps to each other within 24 hours. If a snap is not sent within the 24-hour period, the streak will end, and the flame emoji will disappear. The longer the streak, the higher the number of days displayed next to the flame emoji.

Snapchat Snap Streaks is a popular feature among users, especially younger users who use it as a way to stay connected with their friends and to compete with each other for the highest streak count. However, it is important to note that Snap Streaks should not be prioritized over real-life responsibilities, such as schoolwork or other obligations.
