Amazon had yesterday announced the launch of a dedicated Oscars hub on Fire TV where movie moviegoers can prepare for the 2023 Academy Award ceremony. This includes watching all the nominated movies and voting for their preferred Oscar winners via the on-screen interactive voting experience, “Oscars predictions”

Starting March 6, the new Oscars hub will be available on the Fire TV interface until March 20.

The voting experience, which will be available on March 7, is the most intriguing feature. It allows users to predict Oscar winners in seven categories, including “Best Actor in a Leading Role,” “Best Actress in a Leading Role,” “Best Adapted Screenplay” and “Best Director,” among others.

Users can have access to the feature by speaking into their voice remote, “Alexa, vote for the Oscars.”

Following the conclusion of the Oscars ceremony and the announcement of the winners, Fire TV users will receive an accuracy score, which they can then brag about to their friends. The final day for users to vote is March 12, the day of the ceremony.

The voting feature will most likely be entertaining for viewers to play around with. There’s even the option to share predictions via social media or text messages. According to the company, this is the first time it is launching an interactive experience in which viewers can fill out an Oscars ballot and share it on social media.

In addition to the “Oscars predictions” experience, Fire TV provides viewers with a single place to find all of the 2023 Oscar-nominated films and where they can watch them. So, whether users want to watch “All Quiet on the Western Front” on Netflix or “Top Gun: Maverick” on Paramount+, they’ll be able to choose the streaming app that has the movie they want to watch.

Additionally, Fire TV users have access to an archive of Oscar-nominated films, including those from the previous year. Users can tell Alexa, “Take me to Fire TV’s Oscars Collection.”

Viewers can also watch free red carpet coverage, interviews, and post-show analysis on Fire TV. Of course, the dedicated hub will include live TV streaming services broadcasting the event, such as Hulu Live TV, YouTube TV, FuboTV, and others.

Jimmy Kimmel will host the 2023 Academy Awards, which will air on ABC on March 12 at 8 p.m. ET.

Amazon received one Academy Award nomination for its international film “Argentina, 1985.” The Amazon-owned studio Metro-Goldwyn-drama Mayer’s film “Women Talking” was also nominated (MGM).
