Alex Ikwechegh, a member of the House of Representatives, has publicly apologized for attacking a Bolt driver who was delivering a package to him.

Ikwechegh acknowledged that his actions fell short of what was expected of a public servant.

“As a public servant, I recognize the trust placed in me by my constituents and the Nigerian people,” he said when he made his public apology on Monday. I sincerely apologize for my behavior, which did not meet the expectations placed on me.

He expressed regret for the damage and humiliation his actions had brought to Abuwatseya, his supporters, and the general public.

Additionally, he affirmed his collaboration with the Nigerian Police, promising to uphold accountability and assist with their investigation.

“I, Hon. Alex Ikwechegh, a member of the House of Representatives, would like to speak about a very upsetting incident that happened at my house not too long ago. There is a video that has surfaced that shows me acting inappropriately toward an Uber driver who came to deliver a waybill to me. I acknowledge that my actions were inappropriate and unworthy of a public official, and I sincerely apologize for them.

As a public servant, I am aware of the confidence that the Nigerian people and my constituents have placed in me. I sincerely apologize for my behavior, which did not meet the expectations placed on me. I acknowledge that what I did has hurt people by my actions.

“I would like to reassure everyone that I am fully assisting the Nigerian Police in their investigation of this matter. The statement said, “I back their efforts to make sure that justice is done and that those who are at fault are held accountable.”

Additionally, he praised the Nigeria Police Force for enforcing the law and defending citizens’ rights.

“I also appreciate that my party and the Nigerian Police swiftly condemned my actions, demonstrating our collective commitment to upholding the law and protecting the rights of all citizens,” he said.
Ikwechegh stated that he was acting right now to resolve the fundamental problems that caused this incident.

“In order to make sure that such behavior never occurs again, I am seeking professional counseling.” I’ll also be taking part in community service projects that encourage tolerance, compassion, and understanding.

However, he urged all Nigerians to stand with him in promoting a respectful, tolerant, and understanding society.

“To create a society where everyone is treated with respect and dignity, we must cooperate. Ikwechegh continued, “I appreciate your understanding and hope you will accompany me on this path to recovery and development.
