Ikanna Okim, whose father is the distinguished journalist Sunny Okim, has been granted a highly competitive full scholarship to attend Oxford University, a testament to her academic excellence.

Ikanna Okim achieved academic excellence with her first-class honours degree in Law from the University of Uyo (UNIUYO) in 2021, setting a record as the first student to do so in 36 years. She continued her streak of success by graduating with first-class honours from the Nigerian Law School in 2022, showcasing her outstanding intellectual abilities.

Ikanna Okim recently disclosed in an interview that she has received a prestigious full scholarship to study at Oxford University in London as an Oxford-Hackney BCL graduate scholar. She plans to leverage this opportunity to lay the groundwork for her future academic endeavors, which include earning a PhD in corporate and commercial law after completing her master’s degree at Oxford.

To achieve academic success, one must be willing to put in extra effort, approach tasks with diligence, and cultivate a genuine passion for learning,” Ikanna Okim emphasized. She credited her upbringing for her accomplishments, stating, “I had a remarkable childhood that laid the foundation for my success. My parents intentionally encouraged critical thinking and independence, which helped shape my mind and fueled my academic drive.
