Former president Goodluck Johnathan joined Akwa Ibomites at 35th anniversary thanksgiving

THE former president of Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan on Sunday, joined the citizens of Akwa Ibom in their thanksgiving ceremony in celebration of her thirty-fifth anniversary.

The thanksgiving, which took place in Uyo, the capital city of Akwa Ibom state had in attendance top government officials, invited guests and members of the state.

Mr Jonathan, in a post made on his official Facebook page said: “It was a delight to have joined Governor Udom Emmanuel and other guests for a State Banquet and Thanksgiving Service in commemoration of the 35th anniversary of the the creation of Akwa Ibom State.

I commend Governor Emmanuel for his exemplary record in laying a good foundation for the sustainable development of the state through the building of massive infrastructure and promoting economic diversification and industrialisation.”

It will be recalled that Akwa Ibom state celebrated her thirty-fifth anniversary on the 23rd day of September, 2022 and the thanksgiving ceremony was one of the events to mark the anniversary.
