Fortnite Will Return to iOS in Europe as Apple Plans to Allow Third-Party App Stores on iPhone.

On January 25, Epic Games said that Fortnite will be returning to iOS in Europe. According to the Digital Markets Act (DMA), Apple must now allow sideloaded programs and third-party app stores for iOS.

A deadline of March 7 is being pursued. According to reports, Apple is reportedly already working on updating the App Store and will probably release a different version in Europe. After four years, iPhone users may soon be able to play Fortnite thanks to Epic Games, one of the many app shops that become available in the area.

Fortnite will return to iOS in Europe this year, according to a post made by the Epic Games Store’s official account. The well-known battle royale game will also be available on iOS through the Epic Games Store, it was further said. A launch date was not specified in the post.

The company stated,  “Stay tuned for details as we figure out the regulatory timeline. We’ll continue to argue to the courts and regulators that Apple is breaking the law.”

Tim Sweeney, CEO of Epic Games, also criticized Apple for its ” In a long post, he said the Cupertino-based tech giant is forcing third-party app stores to accept “junk fees on downloads and new Apple taxes on payments they don’t process.”

In addition, he stated that a monopoly shouldn’t have the power to choose which businesses can compete with it after a user revealed a list of consents Apple required from independent app shops before approving them for iOS.

2020 saw the removal of Fortnite from the App Store as a result of an iPhone maker prohibition against Epic for pushing in-app purchases from third parties. After that, Apple was sued for antitrust by Epic Games. The tech giant won when the US Supreme Court turned down its request to hear the case just last week.

Epic Games is concerned because of its past problems with the company and because Apple continues to monitor third-party apps, there is a chance that the creator of Fortnite may be banned once more.
