The Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway’s Itori area’s Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Itori Unit Command has issued a warning to motorists not to harass its personnel while they are performing their duties.

On Monday in Itori, Ogun, the Unit Commander, Mr. Gbenga Okusi, issued the warning while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

Okusi emphasized the need to warn drivers who were going against the flow of traffic in the Ewekoro sector of the Lagos-Abeokuta expressway because they were persistent and harassed the staff even after being warned against it.

The unit commander noticed that driving against traffic was a contributing factor in some of the accidents along this axis, particularly the one on October 1 that resulted in two fatalities and four injuries.

“We are appealing to motorists to desist from driving against one-way at Ewekoro axis to save lives and property.

“In addition, we will continue to do our best by collaborating with Nigeria Police Force to enforce and apprehend those droving against traffic on Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway.

He reaffirmed the command’s commitment to continuing to inform drivers about the risks of driving against traffic through public awareness campaigns.

The unit commander pleaded with them to obey traffic laws and avoid engaging in risky driving in order to prevent accidents during the ember months.
