Governor Samuel Ortom has told residents of Benue state to fight back and defend themselves against killer herdsmen.

Benue Governor Samuel Ortom has confirmed 15 persons were killed in his Guma local government area on Tuesday.

Speaking to journalists after the Executive Council meeting on Wednesday, he told the people of Benue to defend themselves and fight back the killer herdsmen.

He informed president Buhari, about the unhappiness among Nigerians because of the lack of peace.

According to Governor Ortom, no business is activity is going on because of the level of insecurity posed by bandits even in the church.

”Please tell Mr.President Nigerians are not happy because no one is at peace, no business is going on. Only bandits are reigning as people are even being killed in the church. Even if we are dying we should die and leave a word. For me, I challenge anyone who thinks what I’m saying is not right so that we can chart a way forward on a superior argument”

On the delayed payment of salaries, Ortom attributed it to many factors, including no remittance of funds from NNPC and deep fall in Federal allocations, among others.
