Officially, the GTA 6 trailer is now out. Originally, the trailer was supposed to launch on December 5 at 9 a.m. ET (7:30 p.m. IST). Nevertheless, a leak led to its release fifteen hours earlier than planned.
The release of Grand Theft Auto 5 was in September 2013. As a result, ten years after the game’s last release, excitement for the GTA 6 trailer was already building. Fans are going crazy about the leak, which caused the game’s trailer to be released ahead of schedule. GTA 6’s debut schedule and supported platforms were also formally declared.

The GTA 6 trailer was leaked by a now-suspended account on X. The official trailer was quickly published to YouTube by the developer, Rockstar Games. Rockstar included a teaser with the message, “Our trailer has leaked so please watch the real thing on YouTube” in a post on X. On the video-sharing platform, the teaser had over 29 million views in just four hours after it was released.
Vice City, a made-up version of Miami, is where Grand Theft Auto 6 is set, according to the teaser. After that, we are introduced to Lucia, the female lead, who we first see incarcerated and then follow as she embarks on escapades across the city reminiscent of Bonnie and Clyde. Classic Grand Theft Auto elements, such as quick cars, weapons, cash, and more, are also glimpsed.
GTA 6 Platforms Confirmed
Grand Theft Auto 6 will launch on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X in 2025, according to a press statement from Rockstar Games. Almost certainly, closer to the debut, an actual release date will be disclosed. Grand Theft Auto 5 has sold over 190 million copies to date, according to the company’s press statement.
There had been several internet leaks before the release of the GTA 6 trailer. The son of a Rockstar Games employee purportedly posted the GTA 6 location map online. It shows Vice City. The leaked image included a scaled-down, panoramic perspective of Miami that had been fictionalized.
