Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has vowed to lead Nigeria out of its current economic crisis, with a firm commitment to “rescue Nigeria” in the upcoming 2027 general elections. Speaking during a recent visit to Osun State’s NNPP Secretariat, Kwankwaso expressed optimism about the party’s increasing influence across various states.

Kwankwaso, represented by a delegation led by Dr. Rahila Mukhtar, reiterated that the NNPP is positioning itself as the most viable alternative to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). “We are well-prepared to deliver Nigeria from its present economic quagmire,” he said. Kwankwaso emphasized that previous administrations have failed the people, adding, “I will not deceive Nigerians but will rescue the country from the present quagmire.”
Strengthening NNPP’s State Structures
In line with his vision to rescue Nigeria, Musa Kwankwaso has directed the NNPP to enhance the operations of its state chapters to ensure effective administration and grassroots mobilization. Dr. Rahila Mukhtar emphasized the need for vibrant state secretariats, stating that state-level political engagement is key to gaining public support.
Kwankwaso noted that the party is actively equipping state chapters with the necessary tools, including vehicles, to facilitate smooth operations and mobility. This strategy is part of a broader effort to expand the party’s reach and bolster its capacity to challenge APC’s dominance in key regions.
2027: A Mission to Break Poverty’s Grip
As the 2027 general elections approach, Kwankwaso is positioning himself as a leader focused on addressing Nigeria’s endemic poverty and economic hardship. He stressed that many previous leaders have exploited poverty to manipulate the populace during elections, a practice he intends to end. “Nigerians have realized that various leaders we’ve had are intentionally using poverty to cajole citizens,” he said, vowing not to deceive the electorate but to empower them through meaningful economic reforms.
Kwankwaso believes that his administration would be a transformative force, pledging that the NNPP is the party with “good intentions for the masses.” He acknowledged the challenges ahead but remained confident in the party’s ability to inspire positive change across the nation.
In Osun State, the NNPP chairman, Dr. Tosin Odeyemi, commended Musa Kwankwaso’s leadership and highlighted the party’s commitment to addressing the needs of the people. “We are working tirelessly to make the NNPP the most attractive option for the citizens of Osun,” Odeyemi stated, promising that the state chapter would continue to engage with voters to ensure widespread support for Kwankwaso’s mission to rescue Nigeria.
