Newly constructed Ekiti Airport receives first aircraft

The newly constructed cargo airport in Ado-Ekiti, the capital of Edo State, has today received its first ever aircraft NAF 930, at the airport.

The official inauguration of the airport was done by the Minister of Aviation, Haidi Sirika, alongside Ekiti State governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi and his wife, the Deputy Governor, Otunba Bisi Egbeyemi, the Deputy Governor-Elect, Monisade Afuye, Minister for Trade, Industry and Investment, Otunba Niyi Adebayo, and other top government officials.

At around 10:20am, the multipurpose commerical aircraft which was flown by Lieutenant Balogun had landed at the airport, ready for commissioning with the Federal Government delegates on board.
