THE Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, and other important stakeholders and elder-state-men of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue have withdrawn their support for the presidential candidate of PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, ahead of the 2023 general elections.

This is coming from an alleged hate-speech labelled against the citizens of Benue by the PDP flagbearer and disrespect to Governor Ortom.

Governor Ortom also said that Atiku is working with Miyetti Allah.

To add more fire to the already burning fire were the recent comments made by Atiku on the killings in Benue by alleged herdsmen.

While speaking at the Chapel of Grace, Government House in Makurdi, Benue’s capital on Tuesday, Governor Ortom said: “It was not correct for a presidential candidate who is seeking to rule the people to say that kind of thing.

“It was very wrong. And it would appear that he doesn’t even reference me and consider me to be a governor of my state.”

The Benue governor also attested that Atiku had not considered him during the selection of his presidential campaign team.

“I am not in his campaign team. The people they appointed there, no consent from me. So, I’ll remain on my own. But I’m waiting; when the election comes, we shall vote the election according to the election.”
