Contrary to popular misconception, the Local Government Pensioners Association in Ogun State (LOGPAN) maintains there is a friendly connection between the organization and the governor Dapo Abiodu-led administration.

In an interview with reporters shortly after a meeting with Governor Abiodun on Tuesday, the State Chairman of LOGPAN, Sikiru Ayilara, made this statement. He praised the governor for agreeing to look into the problem of pension harmonization in the State.

“We have come to meet our governor on some important issues concerning the pensioners in this State, most especially local government pensioners, we came to appeal to the governor to give us harmonisation, which he has agreed to look into.

“Yes, there was a slight disagreement between us and the State government, but that has been settled today and we are satisfied with the government position”, he stated.

Ayilara thanked the governor for keeping his word to provide 500 million naira every three months for the payment of gratuities in the State, but he was advised to look at reviewing the payment, which he claimed would speed up the payment of gratuities to its members.
