THE presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Mr Peter Obi, has commented on the level of insecurity in the country, especially with the recent attack on the Founder of Omega Fire Ministries, Apostle Johnson Suleman.
It will be recalled that on Friday, Apostle Johnson Suleman and his aides were attacked by some unknown abductors and that has raised curiosity about the state of security in Nigeria.
In a post on his official Twitter page on Monday, Peter Obi wrote that: “The recent attack on the Founder of Omega Fire Ministries, Apostle Johnson Suleman underscores the level of insecurity in our nation. Ugly acts like these are reported from different parts of the country on a daily basis, and it is saddening.
Such acts of terrorism, violence and criminality are highly condemnable. The high level of insecurity that has continued to plague our nation has continued to clog up the nation’s wheel of progress.”
He also added that the current insecurity crisis that has rocked the country is one of the first things he will do when he is elected as president in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
“I restate my commitment to the fight against insecurity as my first priority in governance when voted into power. I am saddened by the lives lost during the attack; one life lost to insecurity, is one too many. I pray God to grant the victims eternal rest,” the former Anambra governor said.
