Sirajo Ahmed, a 25-year-old teacher, was detained in Alkeri, Bauchi State, on allegations of defiling a seven-year-old student.

SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, a spokesman for the State Police Command, claimed that the culprit defiled the youngster after luring her into his office at the school.

Wakil added that the police had detained seven additional people for a variety of crimes.

“Information received by the Division indicated that Ahmad, who lives in Unguwan Ajiya Alkaleri, is a teacher in Royal Science Academic School Alkaleri.

“The police also arrested one Sani Musa 35 an ice-cream seller who resides in Bacas area of Bauchi for having sodomized a 12-year-old boy Behind Bank Alkaleri.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect bought a sachet of water from the victim and lured him to a nearby lock-up shop and sodomized him,” he said.

Wakil also reported that Monday Ishaku, 32, of Anguwan Ruga, was detained by the Tafawa Balewa Police division.

“The suspect who claims to be a herbalist raped a woman who took her daughter for treatment after intoxicating her in his house. 

The statement claimed the culprit deceived those seeking urgent medical attention and carried out a heinous deed.

According to him, the command also detained four individuals for criminal conspiracy, misuse of funds by a public official in violation of trust, forgery, and fraud.

Wakil advised parents to use caution when dealing with individuals they bring their kids to because many of them may be wolves in sheep’s clothing.

According to him, Umar Sanda, the police commissioner, ordered that all of the suspects be brought up in court.
