Samsung has revealed details about the new Cycle Tracking feature on the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 and Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. These smartwatches are becoming more advanced in terms of menstrual tracking by incorporating a skin-temperature sensor. The infrared temperature sensor will be used by the company to provide users with more detailed information about their body temperatures and menstrual cycle. To determine ovulation details, it will analyze users’ body temperature and other key fertility indicators. According to Samsung, data will be encrypted and stored on the user’s device.

The new temperature-based cycle tracking feature for the Galaxy Watch 5 series is available through the Samsung Health app. It is currently available in 32 countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Korea, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States. There is no word on when users in India will be able to use the feature.

Users can enable the temperature-based cycle tracking feature by going to the Cycle Tracking section in the Samsung Health app and entering the necessary information about their cycle. After that, they can enable the feature by turning on the Predict period with the skin temp toggle in the settings. Cycle Tracking will display the temperature readings as a graph.
