The Lagos state Police command has arrested two men on the grounds of forgery of vehicle registration documents.

The men are accused of forging fake vehicle registration documents for unsuspecting members of the public, defrauding them under the guise of the Lagos State Vehicle Licencing Office.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hudeyin, in a statement on Thursday, said the suspects, Owoade Olushola, and Salaudeen Sherif, were arrested in Ikeja.

According to reports, the two men were arrested last week following credible intelligence gathered on their activities of fraud and impersonation.

Mr Salaudeen, a security guard is being charged for aiding and abetting Olushola in his criminal activities.

According to the Police, “Salaudeen, a security man at the Lagos State Electricity Board, Ikeja, was arrested for aiding and abetting by allowing Olushola use his security post to run his illicit business. Investigation reveals that the suspects have been in the business since February 2021.

“Items recovered from the suspects include one laptop, one printer, fake Inspector General of Police letterheads, fake tinted permits and fake vehicle particulars.

“The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alabi, has directed that the suspects be arraigned at the conclusion of investigations.”
