THE governments of United States and United Kingdom have issued out early warnings of possible attacks from terrorists to Nigerians who reside in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

The US embassy in Nigeria, through its security advisory stressed that there is “an elevated risk of terror attacks in Nigeria, specifically in Abuja,” while noting that the US embassy will minimize the services they offer until further notice.

According to the US embassy, places which may be targets of the looming attacks are government buildings, churches, mosques, schools, hotels, shopping malls and theatres, amongst others.

Equally, Americans who are residing in Nigeria have also been warned to stay alert and also pay attention to local news outlets and also follow the prompts of security operatives.

In a post on their official website, the UK advisory said: “There is an increased threat of terrorist attack in Abuja. You should stay alert, consider movements carefully, follow the local news and the advice of security authorities.”
