The longest-running American airline in Nigeria, Delta Airlines, announced that it would stop operating flights between JFK airport in New York and Lagos as of October 4, 2022.
The airline, a legacy carrier and one of the country’s biggest made this disclosure in a statement that was made available to reporters.
The airline said that the route suspension was necessary to accommodate “the current demand situation” when it restarted service on its Lagos-Atlanta route on September 9, 2020.
But it also stated that the Lagos–Atlanta lines will continue to run.
