THE presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, in the general elections, Peter Obi, has promised Nigerians that if he is voted president in the forthcoming general elections, that he will increase the minimum wage, even as he will give more concentration to production over consumption.

The LP presidential flagbearer made this promise during LP presidential campaign rally at the Confluence Stadium in Lokoja, the capital of Kogi State, on Tuesday.

Speaking on the minimum wage at the rally, Obi promised that “We want to make sure that we would remove Nigeria from consumption to production. When the TUC former president was talking to you, he told you about minimum wage. We will ensure that those who are being owed, we would work with state and local governments to clear their outstanding.”
