5 suspects nabbed by police for vandalizing in Bayelsa

The Bayelsa State Police Command on Tuesday marched five suspects captured by its agents for supposed unrefined petroleum pipeline defacing, unlawful oil bunkering and monetary damage.

The order’s representative, Asinim Butswat, who advised writers on their captures, said the suspects were purportedly liable for two late episodes of pipeline defacement in the Nembe Local Government Area of the state.

He gave the characters of the suspects as Sutomwa Martins, Ebiebere Paul, Christian Ayibatariworio, Owori Clarkson and Beregha Kingsley who is also known as Kalaboy.

Butswat said, “You might review that on 30th July 2022 at around 0200 hours, pipeline hoodlums exploded a Trunk line conveying unrefined petroleum from Omoku to Brass Terminal at Etiama, Nembe Local Government Area, Bayelsa State.

“In a connected assault, on eleventh August 2022 at around 0100 hours, similar miscreants with the guide of an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), exploded a raw petroleum conveyance Pipeline at Obama Tereke River. This line additionally supplies unrefined petroleum to Brass Terminal.

“Stressed by these assaults, the Commissioner of Police, Bayelsa State Command, CP Ben Nebolisa Okolo, fdc, charged the Command’s Tactical Teams to heighten endeavors to capture the culprits of these devious demonstrations.”

As per him, the grabbing of Martins on August 6 at Agbura close to Yenagoa, who had been on the needed rundown of the order “for different offenses like seizing, ocean robbery and pipeline defacing”, prompted the dread of the four others in a subsequent procedure on August 12.

He said that the order’s agents as a team with young people working for a confidential security outfit captured the four others “after a furious weapon fight at their safe-house in Nembe-Bassambiri.”

Butswat further said, “Every one of the suspects have admitted to their contribution in the new goes after on an unrefined petroleum conveyance pipeline at Obama Tereke River and Trunk Line at Etiama, Nembe Local Government Area.”

He said the police order would keep on teaming up with other security organizations, local area adolescents and applicable partners to safeguard basic public foundation.

He added that the order would close its examination soon and every one of the suspects would have to deal with penalties.
