Following a meeting with the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, the Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities (SSANU) and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Allied and Education Institutions (NASU) on Saturday have unanimously suspended their strike actions.
According to reports, thee suspension is to take effect from Wednesday 24th of August 2022.
According to Adamu Adamu,, the Federal Government has committed to pay N50 billion for earned allowances to members of SSANU, NASU and the Academic Staff Union of Universities.
However, owning to the fact that ASUU is still on strike, both parties can only have restricted activities within their various university premises as they wait for a decision to be reached by ASUU.
