Apple Is Likely to Release a Touchscreen HomePod – Earlier this year, Apple launched the second generation of its HomePod smart speaker in India. Along with a lighted touch surface on top of the cylindrical body, it has a mesh exterior. It has been stated that the company is currently developing new HomePod speakers with touch displays.
The California-based tech behemoth is expected to release a revised HomePod in the first half of 2024, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo’s March prediction. It might include a 7-inch touchscreen. A fresh leak has surfaced that purports to show the HomePod’s touch-screen design.
Apple is allegedly developing a HomePod frame shell with black bezels and a glass top that would be utilized as a touch display, according to an X post by user Kosutami (@KosutamiSan). According to the report, it looks to have a similar design to the Apple HomePod 2nd generation. There are no other details about the speaker in the post. It’s crucial to remember that Apple released the HomePod (2nd Gen) about two years after discontinuing the HomePod (1st Gen).
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has previously revealed that Apple was developing a touchscreen-equipped HomePod. According to the source, Apple may release a revised HomePod in the first half of 2024, complete with a 7-inch touchscreen panel. Tianma provides displays to various companies and is rumored to be Apple’s sole partner for the speaker.
With the release of a touchscreen-equipped HomePod, Apple may take on the Nest Hub from Google and the Echo Show models from Amazon. In terms of smart speakers, Apple has lagged behind its rivals thus far.
In the meantime, the S7 CPU and Apple’s personal assistant Siri are included with the second-generation HomePod smart speaker. It costs Rs. 32,900 in India and comes in two color options: midnight and white.
