As Nigeria and Nigerians edge closer to the elections, many Nigerians who are definitely tired of the way things are running have become pro active and have launched a full unrelenting campaign to ensure that everyone participates in the coming general elections to help change the current fate of the nation.
One of such persons is a Twitter user named Ezra who tweeted an open message to Ebuka the TV presenter to appeal with the hosts and conveners of the big brother reality TV show to halt the show for now, saying that the country needs to be more focused on the coming elections and not be distracted by a show that promotes only nudity and sexuality.
He said “@Ebuka please help advice your guys to close down Big Brother Naija this year… there is a lot to focus on in this nation. Getting a PVC should be talked about and not one unnecessary tv show that teaches nothing other than sexuality and irresponsibility.”
He also said “The worst part is that Shola said he’s going for bbnaija next year… I really don’t understand. What disciple is he preaching now???
Many Nigerians on the other hand have reacted to his tweet and standpoint on the commencement of the show at the moment.
They have said they have to enjoy themselves at the end of the day regardless and that his tweet concerning the show is one made out of hate for the show, stating that the continuous voters registration (CVR) ends in 22 days.
Some of the replies read. “My honest feedback is If CVR (Continuous Voters Registration) ends in 22 days, June 30. Then this tweet is unrelated. It’s just hatred for BBN. Secondly, BBN is even a wide platform to sensitise people with PVCs to vote. Banning BBN won’t stop distraction in this country. Be calm.”
“You want an entertainment business venture to close for 1 year because some ignorant people need to be reminded to vote for their good. BBNaija has no hindrance on anyone who wants to vote or change the country 4 good. There are already enough channels reminding voters to get PVC”.
