Kenyan’s president-elect, William Ruto

President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria has felicitated William Ruto, for emerging as the winner of Kenya’s general election which was held on August 9, 2022.

The Kenyan people’s peaceful and transparent election results are another example of how the democratic process, values, and principles continue to be the greatest means for people to choose their leaders and hold them responsible. The President commends the Kenyan people for these qualities.

Based on a long history of friendship, economic and trade ties, and successful collaboration through international organizations like the African Union, the United Nations, and the Commonwealth, President Buhari claims that Nigeria values Kenya as a strategic partner in the fight against terrorism and violent extremism.

The President hopes for more beneficial and vigorous exchanges between the two nations on common goals including advancing democracy, economic prosperity, and social development while wishing Deputy President Ruto a good inauguration and term in office.

The president of Nigeria also commends President Uhuru Kenyatta for his statesmanship and exemplary leadership shown to the Kenyan people over the course of the last nine years, as well as for the significant contributions made by his administration to infrastructure, education, healthcare reforms, tourism, and regional security.
