Schools Go On Lockdown In Jigawa Over Insecurity

The Government of Jigawa State has placed an order for an immediate closure of schools in the state as a result of the increased insecurity cases.

This new development was reaffirmed by Jigawa State Commissioner of Education, Dr. Lawan Yunusa ok Wednesday in Dutse, the state capital.

The Education commissioner, while addressing newsmen on the new development noted that the decision of the government was as a result of prior information about plans of attacks on schools in the state.

When questioned about what will be the fate of pupils and students who are taking their examinations in the state, the Education boss said that there will be plans to reschedule the examinations, since there are not external examinations.

Dr. Yunusa also advised parents of students in boarding secondary schools to go and pick their children.
