According to an official report from Dangote Cement company, more than 26 staff of Dangote Cement in Obajana, Kogi State were shot by armed youths who were sent to close down the plant on Wednesday.

The youths had barged into the Dangote’s company with some armed members of a vigilante group to implement the resolution of the Kogi State House of Assembly.

According to verified reports, the Kogi State House of Assembly had on Tuesday ordered the shutdown of the company in a case dubbed as a fraudulent acquisition of Kogi Cement by Dangote Group.

However, security operatives had been able to restore decorum to the company

An official of the company said: “As you can see, uneasy calm has returned to Dangote Cement Company here in Obajana.

“Our worry is the more than 26 people of the company that were shot during the unlawful invasion last Tuesday.

“We are not exaggerating because we have all the pictures of the wounded. Some of the shot victims were rushed to Specialist Hospital, Lokoja.”

More details shortly….
