Nigeria’s Super Falcons were defeated 2-1 by the United States Women’s National Team in their second international friendly.

Early on Wednesday morning (Nigeria Time), the game was held in Washington, D.C.

At Children’s Mercy Park in Kansas City, the USA squad defeated the Super Falcons 4-0 in the first of the two friendly games between the two teams.

Blessing Demehin’s own goal gave the USA the advantage in the game in Washington, but Uchenna Kanu’s equalizing goal in the 50th minute gave the Nigerian squad a chance to steal a victory over the Americans.

Rosemary Lavelle, who headed in a cross from Megan Rapinoe to secure yet another victory for the Americans, ended any optimism in the 66th minute.

The United States has now defeated the ninth African champion eight times in a row.

However, the Super Falcons performed better than they did in the previous friendly when they were destroyed 4-0.

The Super Falcons will score against the US team for the first time in 22 years. The last time this happened was during the women’s football competition at the Sydney 2000 Olympics, where the world champions won 3-1.

The 9th FIFA Women’s World Cup finals, which will be held in Australia and New Zealand in the summer of 2019, have both qualified both sides.
